Hello world! Meet iNspired Generation, led by co-founders and best buds, Christina and Natalie.
Our story began back in 2006: Christina was returning from two semesters studying in Europe, facing her final year of college, her first batch of student loans and her parents’ incessant question, “Christina, what are you going to do with your life?”
Her travel bug was itching like crazy but her bank account was lacking, so she began exploring scholarship opportunities. All she found were research-based programs, and, given she could barely drag herself down the street to the library to write her honors thesis, research on the other side of the world was not an option! That’s when a professor told Christina about the Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship -- a scholarship opportunity to go overseas, no research required. She was thrilled! Christina applied, got the scholarship, and spent a fantastic year in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Fast-forward to 2008: Natalie was trudging through the trenches of her first year of law school while Christina was dancing tango and traveling all over Argentina. Natalie really wanted to spend a semester studying international law in another country, but how could she find the resources to follow her dreams? Inspired by Christina, Natalie applied for the Rotary scholarship, won it and spent her last year of law school spreading goodwill in South America.
As it turned out, the Rotary scholarship was more than a means to study abroad. Rotary is a global network of movers and shakers, do-gooders and world-savers. Through the Rotary community, Christina and Natalie were infused with something new: a deep desire to serve -- to improve the world.
Christina and Natalie returned to the US of A alive with inspiration. Their experience abroad with Rotary had changed their lives. They soon learned Rotary does not get nearly enough applicants for the Ambassadorial Scholarship, or any of their youth and young adult programs. They did research and found tons of other awesome opportunities offered to young people and, again, not nearly enough young people taking advantage! Thousands of awesome opportunities, hundred of thousands eager young people around the world.
Christina and Natalie knew that something needed to connect young people to opportunities, and opportunities to young people. That’s why iNspired Generation was created and that is what we are all about -- connecting you to a world of awesome opportunity! What are you waiting for? Get connected!
